In an increasingly competitive tourism market, promotion can no longer stop at introducing a destination or advertising products. What matters more is creating opportunities for businesses to reach the right markets, meet the right partners and gradually turn those connections into concrete partnerships.
That is also the direction the Da Nang International Tourism Festival 2026 (DITF 2026) is pursuing.
With an expected scale of more than 200 sellers, 150 international buyers and 400 domestic buyers, DITF 2026 aims to build a trading space where Vietnamese tourism businesses can directly access source markets, while helping buyers find products that match the real needs of each market.
Rather than stopping at “showing what we have”, DITF 2026 focuses on a more specific question: which products can be brought to market, and who is the right partner to develop them with?
A destination may have many advantages in resources, products and infrastructure. But for those advantages to translate into actual visitor flows, products need to be connected with the right distribution systems, the right buyers and the right markets.
DITF 2026 is organised to close this gap.
Through B2B sessions, sellers have the opportunity to present their products directly to buyers serving the relevant markets. Conversely, buyers can access a diverse product ecosystem, from accommodation, tour operations, MICE, aviation and destinations to ancillary services.
The value of promotion then lies not only in awareness, but in the ability to generate leads, appointments and conversations with the potential to develop into partnerships.
A list of buyers is only truly valuable when businesses get the chance to approach them and work with them directly.
That is why DITF 2026 continues to put trade at the centre. Buyers and sellers are able to review profiles, choose suitable partners and lock in appointments before the official business days begin.
Promotion therefore does not end with a business appearing in a directory or in the exhibition area. It continues along a clearer chain: reach – interest – appointment – meeting – follow-up after the event.
This is also the approach DITF has been building step by step over previous editions. At the 2025 edition, the event recorded thousands of business appointments between buyers and sellers, showing that demand for direct connections between Vietnamese businesses and source markets is very strong.
DITF 2026 continues to expand on that foundation, aiming not only to increase the number of meetings but also to raise the likelihood that meetings progress to product inspections, quotations, sales programmes or concrete partnerships.
For Da Nang, DITF is also an occasion to present the city’s product ecosystem directly to international buyers.
Da Nang is now known not only for beach holidays but also for its strengths in MICE, golf, wedding tourism, wellness, cuisine, entertainment and regional link-up products. Bringing buyers to the destination in person means these products are not only showcased through images but can also be assessed in terms of how well they can sell in the market.
Buyers can meet businesses, learn about products, discuss cooperation terms and carry out site inspections. The promotion story thus moves beyond “what Da Nang has” to a more practical question: which products suit each market and can be included in sales programmes in the near future?
This is a crucial link between destination promotion and generating visitor flows.
According to Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, DITF’s direction is not limited to promoting Da Nang alone, but aims to build a regular networking platform for Vietnam’s tourism industry, where localities, businesses and international partners can meet, present products and expand commercial cooperation.
This approach also shows that the Association’s role is expanding.
Beyond helping businesses get in front of the market, the Association aims to create a connection infrastructure so that supply meets the right demand, businesses can reach suitable buyers and those meetings can keep developing after the event ends.
Promotion is then no longer an activity separate from business. It becomes part of the market development process itself.
The number of participating businesses, international buyers or appointments are important indicators, but they are not the ultimate yardstick.
The real value of a trade event lies in what happens afterwards: how many buyers go on to request quotations, how many businesses move into product inspection, how many new programmes are created and how many connections can turn into visitor flows next season.
That is also why DITF 2026 aims for more than simply bringing many businesses and buyers to the same venue.
The bigger goal is to create a chain of connections from promotion to trade, from trade to partnership and from partnership to real sales opportunities.
With this approach, DITF is gradually bringing tourism promotion closer to what businesses actually need: not just to be known, but to be connected; not just to be connected, but to have the chance to turn that into business.

The merged body is called the Danang Tourism Association and keeps two offices: Ariyana and Hoi An.
