The sand runs the length of the city’s east coast, some thirty kilometres of it end to end. Forbes has listed My Khe among the world’s most attractive beaches, and most of the city’s beachfront hotels sit along this strip.
The water is calmest at first light — which is when locals swim, before work. The surf season runs September to March; outside it the sea suits swimming and gentler water sports.
It is the only place on this list a delegate staying beachside can reach on foot, with no transfer to arrange.
